Momme is the standard unit for measuring silk weight, with 1 momme equal to 4.34 grams of silk per square metre. A higher momme value indicates denser fabric, achieved through tighter weaves and thicker yarns during production.
High-momme fabrics typically demonstrate greater longevity, a brighter sheen, and a softer hand-feel; a 25 momme weight translates to approximately 108.5 grams per square metre of silk - 30% more material than 19 momme pillowcases and 13.6% more than 22 momme pillowcases. 25 momme pillowcases therefore offer users more durability than the more common 19 or 22 momme pillowcases, providing customers with a longer-lasting investment for their money.
